The Ai! Initiative
Project Overview
Ai! represents Heritage Lab's flagship initiative, focusing on developing cutting-edge AI translation and preservation tools for the Inuktitut language. Working in close collaboration with Kativik Ilisarniliriniq and guided by the Inuktitut Language Committee, this initiative combines advanced artificial intelligence with community-driven development.
The name "ᐁ!" (Ai!) was chosen as an informal greeting in Inuktitut. It perfectly represents our mission: creating welcoming, accessible technology that preserves Indigenous languages while respecting their cultural context.
